Smashing Pumpkins will join a SummerSonic 2013 loaded up on hard rock.
Though tickets for the Saturday and Sunday shows in Chiba sold out early, they are still available for Sunday in Osaka.
Saturday’s line-up in Chiba Marine Stadium includes, in order, Maximum the Hormone, Bullet for my Vallentine, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park and Metallica. The Mountain Stage inside the convention hall features Fidlar, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, the Hiatus, Stereophonics, Cheap Trick and Beady Eye.
Sunday’s line-up might appear more thin to many observers, but it still has a lot to offer. The Marine Stage features, in order, Zebrahead, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, the Smashing Pumpkins, Mr. Children and Muse. The Mountain Stage offers Cyndi Lauper, Earth Wind and Fire and Pet Shop Boys, while Sonic Stage has the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Johnny Marr and Two Door Cinema Club.

Globalite Magazine caught the Smashing Pumpkins at Southside in Germany and also Pohoda in Slovakia this summer. Their headliner show on the Friday night was a full 90 minutes, allowing Billy Corgan and company to really get into it. Corgan came by the press area to chat with Slovakian journalists before the show, and he was friendly with the crowd, joking about how pumpkins turn nasty after midnight. We like when these Pumpkins get nasty, and look forward to the them outside Tokyo at SummerSonic 2013.
